Here's Nora Roberts at the Literacy booksigning. Yesterday she gave the keynote speech on a writer's support group of friends.





Last night I attended the Harlequin pajama party. My flash wasn't working, but all the Steeple Hill Love Inspired authors look great. Thank goodness I lost the 35 lbs or I'd be a blob!

A special moment was meeting Jayne, head hostie at the eharlequin.com site.

    Hey Patti and Deb, I am having a blast. But, it's hard work, too. I think I lost 2 lbs yesterday just in the 3 trips walking from the Yacht Club to the Dolphin. It's hot!

    I actually bought leopard print pj's for the event but chickened out because of the spaghetti strap top and the fact I had to walk in the dark - after midnight - back to the Yacht Club.

    Just wait until I lose more weight, too. Then nothing will stop me. Hahaha.

    Anyway, I had to show off my Canuck hat. :D

These days, I'm busy working on the final draft of my historical romance, Emma's Outlaw , so I thought I'd give you some photos to check out. They are all of prairie wildlife in my area. Do you remember the afternoon JJ and I sat in the van on the empty dirt road with the suspicious looking dynamite box and waited for the Mountie? Well, these cowbirds kept us company. I had this photo in mind and just needed to wait for the cowbird to take flight. I waited. And, I waited. Then, I almost missed it because my arm was getting tired holding the camera in position and the bird decided to take off at the same moment I lowered the camera. About a quarter mile away on the same road but on a different day, I glanced at this familiar old bridge and saw a mule deer hiding underneath.
