Congrats to Genesis Finalists
First round judging of the ACFW's Genesis contest is over and the finalists have been announced.
I'm not one of them.
However, I want to send out major congratulations to those on the list. With over 450 entries, finaling in this contest is a huge accomplishment and I wish you all the best.
I'm still waiting on one contest result, although hope is flagging something fierce.
It's a cold, gloomy day outside. I'm not letting it drag me down, though. Chap 4 to Marry Me, Ma'am will be heading out to my CP's after one more proof read and I'm hoping to have a productive weekend of revisions.
So, what are your plans for this weekend? Hitting a book? Or the beach? hehe

Ohhh, I feel your pain on the Genesis contest! This was my 1st yr entering and I didn't final, but there's always next year! And I'm interested to see what I DID score and the comments...
ReplyDeleteI ALSO entered the TBL contest... first year for that and entered only 1 ms in that. I think they are to announce finalists by tomorrow? I wasn't involved last year so am not sure if they e-mail/phone or post the finalists.... hmmmm...
(((((Krista))))) sorry you didn't make it, either. Yeah, I'm itching to see my scores, too.
ReplyDeleteThis was my second year for the Genesis, but no, I didn't enter the TBL last year, either, so I don't know how they info the finalists.
I live in Canada and of the 3 contests I've finaled in, only 1 has ever phoned me. The rest email. I don't mind email. They can't hear me squeal then. :)
I'll add you to my prayer list. I'll pray for God's will on your ms and for Him to be there for you regardless of the outcome.
I just wish they'd hurry... :0
My plans for the weekend include watching my hubby and son paint the fence. Have a great one, Anita.
ReplyDeleteI am hoping to write two hours/day on the weekend to continue with the May Blitz, but I am also getting ready to head to Alberta next Wed. for more family time. Hope to do a bit of gardening before I go if it gets warm and dry enough.
ReplyDeleteAnd yikes, I'm up for another post on Prairie Chicks for Tuesday. How do you handle that feeling of deadline panic?
What a rollercoaster ride you have had (and taken us on) while waiting for your contest entry results, Anita!
Regardless of the outcome, I still think you're a winner for your persistence and hard work. I'm sure it will pay off some time soon. What's your next step with these particular mamuscripts? Will you be submitting to publishers? Or have you already been down that path?
How come I miss my typos, even when I preview?
ReplyDelete... of course, that should have been manuscripts with an 'n'
Hey Karen, so you're the supervisor, then? Ever read Tom Sawyer? LOL
ReplyDeleteUm... I don't hear anything about writing in there...
Hi Helen - sounds like you have a busy few days in there. I'm glad to see you're allotting (sp?) time for writing.
ReplyDeleteSo far, I haven't felt panic at the blog even when it's 11 pm on the night before as I always have something I'm working on even if it's only in my head. I'm like Janet and write well under pressure.
Yes, I have been on a rollercoaster and I've been having my moments of pity, too. I'm down today because I'm pretty sure since I haven't been info'd yet that I'm not a finalist in the TBL contest and I wanted some good news this week. Even last night when JJ and I went to the Regina Coin Club mtg, I knew he'd won the kids division for his display and I thought I'd won for the adults but even though they said it was a hard decision, no such luck. Bummer.
And FWIW, I didn't notice your sp error until your next msg came it. And I do the same anyway. It's hard to proof when it's not on paper.
Have a good weekend.
