Book Review: Missionary Daddy

Missionary Daddy by Linda Goodnight (A Tiny Blessings Tale) LI #408 - Aug 07

Have you ever gone someplace and met someone you couldn't forget? That's the premise of this book. Two people spend a sweltering day working together in Africa and then part. But they can't stop thinking about each other. A year later, they come together in Chestnut Grove, Virginia but something has drastically changed. He now knows who she is and he feels betrayed although he has no right to.

Beautiful, rich Samantha Harcourt is on a modeling assignment in Africa when she takes a side trip and ends up at a mission. For one glorious day, instead of being the face that everyone knows, she's just a woman helping to build an orphanage. Not wanting to ruin her image, she doesn't tell the handsome missionary who she is. But she can't forget Africa or the homeless children there.

Eric Pellegrino has spent years in the African mission field. He thrives on the land and the people. He's even in the process of adopting 2 young boys. When a beautiful woman shows up for work detail, he thinks she's one of the helpers. At the end of a fulfilling day, he bids her goodnight believing he'll see her in the morning. He doesn't. Months go by and then he accepts a job back in the U.S. Imagine his surprise when he finds Samantha's face ‘literally everywhere. Billboards, magazines.' And now, a year later, he's getting the biggest surprise of all...Sam's coming home.

This book shows you what a day in the life of a mission field worker feels like as well as that of a supermodel. It covers international adoptions as well as disillusionment.

I really liked this book.

As the 7th book in the ‘Tiny Blessings' series, it continues to weave the problems of the Tiny Blessings adoption agency throughout its pages. Like all the other books in the series, this is a stand-alone but the other rich stories in the series shouldn't be missed.

The theme of the Tiny Blessings series, is: Loving families and needy children continue to come together to fulfill God's greatest plans!
