    hi anita
    i missed you and JJ blogging yesterday over at the Inkwell about cats.

    i've never been much of a cat person per se. having a mom who grew up on a farm, cats and dogs were "working" animals and not really pets. the cats were all barn cats - which are the kind i do like because they do keep the pest population down.

    as a "cityfolk" person, i don't like having a pet unless I know i can spend quality time with said pet. cats don't need that much attention but still...

    anyhoo, just wanted to jot a note to say i enjoyed the blogging of you and yours. i think that is so neat. i hope someday my relationship with Guppy will be similar.

    oooh, do NOT like cats. Tried one once, and he bounced off the walls, jumped on my baby's head...

    Too nervous and independent for me!!

    I hear you Deb. It made sense when times were tough but there's a lot to be said for the companionship of animals, too.

    And with all the cat bylaws coming out these days, it's not fair to the cats to start tying them up when they're not used to it, either.

    Deb, you reminded me of when my eldest was a teen and we'd cruise the fabric stores together. One time, a lady stopped us from 'oohing' over some silky fabric and this lady said she wished her daughter shared her interests like mine did.

    I dunno. I can't promise Guppy will but if you raise him in the Light, he'll want to spend time with you no matter what.

    And I'll be praying for you on this wonderful journey you're embarking on, too.

    Patty, I was very nervous bringing my baby home after having just one child and the cat alone for about 7 yrs. I was worried the cat would sit on the baby's face or try to lick the smell of milk off her. The cat didn't do anything like that at all. It just kept sitting on my head when she wanted me to get up and feed her. LOL

    But yes, I like it when we don't have a cat in the house.

Book Review: Every Kind of Heaven

Every Kind of Heaven (The McKaslin Clan) by Jillian Hart Love Inspired 387 – Mar 07 This great book was a fun read. It’s the first time I ran into the McKaslin Clan’s ‘no-man policy’ which you’ll find in almost every book in this series. The author really let her humour shine in this book not only with the hero and heroine but also with the heroine’s twin who is so much a part of her life. I liked the interactions in this book especially on Ava’s part since she’s a lovable walking disaster. Ava McKaslin is your basic screw-up in everything except her baking. No one can top Ava’s baking. It’s divine. All she wants to do is devote her time to her brand spanking new bakery. She’s fed up with men and their two-faced morals. However, when her new contractor, Brice Donovan comes calling, he remembers her from high school, and invites her out for coffee, Ava mistakens him for a groom and calls him all sorts of names. Book Review: Snowbound in Dry Creek

Snowbound in Dry Creek by Janet Tronstad Love Inspired #465 Oct 08 This is an excellent read. It’s the 3rd book I’ve read this year and already the 2nd one to go to my Top Ten list – and the year just started! It’s also the 2nd book in a row to hit the top ten by the same author. I’ve read over a dozen of this author’s books and these last 2 seem to portray an emotional level above any of her earlier works. Jenny Collins is a widow with 2 kids. Almost penniless, she moved her young family to her only possession of worth – a small house on an acreage outside of Dry Creek, Montana. Barely any furniture and no job, Jenny has a tough time providing what they need but they have a roof over their heads and lots of love.
